On June 23rd, 2017, Jim went to the Atlantic Care emergency room with stomach pains thinking he had an ulcer. The diagnosis came back as Hepatocellular Carcinoma (liver cancer). Jim will be celebrating his 50th birthday September 28th and they really wanted to make it super special for him. When Jimmy’s wife asked if we could design the look for their fundraiser, we didn’t hesitate. Jimmy and Ada have been our friends for many years, so we were glad to help. I came up with the boxing concept. They had the idea of photoshopping Jimmy’s head onto a boxer’s body. I had Ada take photos of their three children cheering him on and email them to me. I then worked the kids in on the side of the ring. The original headline that I wrote was “Jimmy Kicks Cancer’s Ass!” but we had to tone it down a bit to make it more kid friendly. All in all, Jimmy was very happy. We all just know he IS gonna kick its ass. You got this, Jim.
